(Give with faith and reverence. Do not give without faith. Give as much as you can. Give with modesty. Give with awe. Give with empathy.)

HAA is a cultural association registered as a non-profit organization, and charity is one of its objectives. HAA believes that charity is essential in building a strong community around us. Since its inception, HAA has been doing charitable work collectively or through its chapters and members. Even though all charitable works are noble, HAA being a registered organization follows some guidelines regarding charity:

  • HAA is a non-profit organization, and donations are tax exempted.
  • Demographically, donations should have a wider reach.
  • Resolution is adopted to spend yearly at least $2000 from HAA funds for charity here in the USA and India equitably.
  • With approval from the committee, members can raise funds for the charity to help a general cause.
  • Individual donations to other individuals or any other non-profit organization are not encouraged.

Following the guidelines, HAA has responded to many natural calamities. Here are some of the charitable contributions made in the previous years:

  • Tsunami disaster in 2004
  • Katrina flood in New Orleans., 2005
  • Hurricane Harvey in Texas. 2017

Havyaka Krishi. Since Havyakas have roots in agriculture, HAA is funding a few research projects developing machinery to process areca nuts in India.

Membership is the only revenue source for the association. Adding more life members and patrons would help to do more charitable activities.
